The dishcloths are so pretty and I am sure your mom will enjoy them. Thank you for sharing the pattern. I will have to try them. I am glad you are enjoying learning to crochet too. The recipe looks and sounds so delicious!

Dearest Selia,
What a delight to find another post from you! I must tell you again I have missed you so much! The garden statute is so beautiful and I loved all of the quotes you shared and your wonderful photos! I look forward to more of your posts! You always bless and inspire me! I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! It is still quite hot and humid here, in the 100's! But, I am so excited about Autumn and enjoying those cool breezes, fall cooking, planting mums, pansies, violas and snapdragons and working on those wonderful projects that occupy our time during the cooler months. Bless you dear friend!

  • "...I want first of all...to be at peace with myself. I want a singleness of eye, a purity of intention, a central core to my life that will enable me to carry out these obligations and activities as well as I can. I want, in fact - to borrow from the language of the saints - to live "in grace" as much of the time as possible...By grace I mean an inner harmony, essentially spiritual, which can be translated into outward harmony...I would like to achieve a state of inner spiritual grace from which I could function and give as I was meant to in the eye of God..." by Anne Morrow Lindbergh Gift from the Sea

~A Garden of Thoughts~

  • THE Lord God planted a garden In the first white days of the world, And He set there an angel warden In a garment of light enfurled. So near to the peace of Heaven, That the hawk might nest with the wren, For there in the cool of the even God walked with the first of men. And I dream that these garden-closes With their shade and their sun-flecked sod And their lilies and bowers of roses, Were laid by the hand of God. The kiss of the sun for pardon, The song of the birds for mirth,-- One is nearer God's heart in a garden Than anywhere else on earth. For He broke it for us in a garden Under the olive-trees Where the angel of strength was the warden And the soul of the world found ease. ~~ by Dorothy Frances Gurney~~
  • To live content with small means, to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion, to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich, to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly, to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart, to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never, in a word to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common, this is to be my symphony. - William Henry Channing
