Today I have been writing in my "Book of Days" about the things I have to be thankful for. God is so good. My writing desk sits in front of an upstairs window that allows me to glance down ever so often at the garden. The view now is mainly roses, for they are all in full bloom. Quite a few years ago,for a year, I wrote down five things I had to be grateful for before I went to bed each night. (I believe it was in a Sarah Ban Breathnach journal) It truly turns your life around. I have been feeling very thankful for quite a few weeks that God has put more positive people in my life. I believe positive people attract other positive people. I have always told my children that you become who you hang around and I really needed to heed that advice for myself. We all need friends who lift us up and who have our best interest at heart. I am a firm believer in complimenting and finding the good in everyone. Having the attitude of gratitude really puts one's life into perspective. Gratitude takes my mind off problems and helps me to focus on the positive aspects of my life; therefore, cultivating a more positive attitude. I hope you all have a most grateful and beautiful weekend! Here are a few photos of my beautiful New Dawn Rose:
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity.... It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.
If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you," that would suffice.
“Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.” Phil. 4:6
